overall, a disappointing first post
So, there I was walking down Lothian Road the other night at 2 in the morning. You know how it is - darkness falls, body fills with sleep hormones, things start getting a little wierd. People fall over each other, become unable to insult coherently, generally stumble about in their own minds, and your own psyche does its best to make you wish you never had another thought. That kind of thing. Suddenly the thought hit me: what if you could hear the thoughts, the trapped emotional effluent, nay, the very SOUL of the city crying out from the pavements in misery? The urgent and tearful moans of a population in pain, of buildings overflowing with cries of hopelessness, of roads forever witnessing the humanity of it all. Sounds all around me, getting in my head and inflicting me with general spooky oddness.

What I'm sure of is the fact that there is no possible way to convey the terrifying feeling of momentary insanity which overcame me when during this crazed fugue the Ladbrokes cardboard lady suddenly loomed out at me in her oversized manner, clutching at my composure whilst screaming "fantastic odds on racing". One nano-second of pure terror, irrational fear coarsing through my being, having the life sucked out of me by an unusually proportioned effigy to compulsive risk taking....still, beats thinking about the Mothman Prophecies.

Anyway, I got a flash pen USB thingy today, you just plug it in and get 64MB of storage as a removable hard drive. Hence my current games download quest. Find of the day is Llamatron, and a wee International Cricket game I used to have off an ST Format cover disk. Still looking for that ST Snowball Fight game though (not the one with three snowballers - just one per player, 2D, crappy graphics, BRILLIANT sound clips upon impact). Also, as it means I get to download more than 1.4MB of audio (and there is a really cheap MP3 pre-amp built into the pen), Reverend Jah, Princess Headbutt, 30 Day Hex and Stonebaker are ready for sampling. Hurrah! I'll let you know if they beat Mew.
