wake n the dead
these guys are geniuses. or genii. whatever.
The concept is: The World is Dead, Mankind is Dead. It’s time to Wake Up. We do this how? At present - the website, the church, badge-making.
That is an amazing action plan and i love it.

Extrapolations include 3 different gig-tours, a record label, limited ed merch, downloads, streaming, galleries, and my fave title Glasgow's Best Nightmare.

Wake Up, O Sleeper.

dance, then
wherever you may be

you may be in the kitchen, as i was yesterday evening. cooking the first helping of pasta, peas and pesto: humming, the tune was "lord of the dance". i am the lord of the dance, said he. not my favourite primary school song but sometimes you just have to respect the internal jukebox.

then i got a txt off an old mate telling me about an irish bagpiper on tv that morning who was punishing viewers with a rendition of ... i think you know what.

odd. but the kind of oddness which seems to be increasing in frequency these days.

misinterpretation
There's a roadside advertisment that i pass which says
Don't replace your people
Train them
My brain always thinks it says
Guns don't kill people
Wappers do

nose on brick
like a rat in a maze, the same non-baits leading to the same dead ends, habits and habitats. confused looking at walls sniffing them. surely these are not the same ones as last time? sniff snuff whisker twitch. turn around, turn around again. i shouldnt be down here again, but what else can a rat do?

"god can talk to you through anything - even a dead rat" GLENN THE WATER DRINKER
i am not supposed to be a rat. i am a hamster.

hamster me.

c is for
I've decided to become the king of cookies, as although i fear the oven, it can't be that hard, can it? eggs, flour, sugar, mixing, added ingredients of your choice. pound it around, spread in dollopy goodness, bun in the oven (as they say), and there you go. bob, he is your uncle.

My oven will become home to hundreds of newly born warm and lovely biscuits over the coming months. many a crisp bisk will be revealed, soft-doughed snacks and hardened exteriors will emerge preciously to welcoming groups of mouths. the sweetness of cookie will float through my abode like the smell of baked friendship. acquaintances make their way up the stairs like bees winding towards nectar, carrying away crumbs as they pollenate city streets and sofas with biscuit love.

Or could it be that after 5 days on a quasi health-food kick, i mUsT HAvE tHe SUGARS!!! processed, glucose, syrupy, raw, cane, gelatin enhanced, instant e-number heaven, it's all good. GIVE IT TO MEEEEE!!!!

nng.. .. must .. .. resist .. .. argh.

basden
this post exists because i want to make a record of a website i just noticed. it's basden. i started reading his biography and thought "o no, not another why-i-am-a-christian site" but it was actually really interesting. to me.
"you read books to borrow therefrom the force to stimulate your activity... but I read books searching for the man who has written them." (vincent van gogh)
if you're here because you're looking for something to respond to, you can respond to what someone told me in my dream last night. "you," they said, "are probably the campest person i have ever known". i was shocked. i am not camp. i am a big monster, fear me.

externalised stories of healed injuries
Check this out: The Independant, Tuesday 28 / 09 / 04
There are life experiences that you wouldn't choose, but wouldn't swap. This has been one. I don't understand why we survived. But I know something about what matters now. I know life is written in people, and people are more than the sum of their parts. I know that church is not a building, and family more than blood. I know that love is not earnt - it's an incredible gift.
Have it.
